Long FUE Hair Transplant

Achieving a Natural Hairline with Long FUE in Italy: No Need to Shave

At AraMedica, we offer the Long Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) technique, which allows patients to undergo hair transplantation without the need to shave the donor area. This makes it ideal for individuals who wish to maintain their existing hair length during and after the procedure. With Long FUE, hair follicles are gently harvested from the donor area (typically the back and sides of the scalp), allowing for a seamless blend with your existing hair.

Our clinic in Lecce, Puglia, prioritizes personalized care. Unlike automated systems, every hair follicle is meticulously extracted and implanted by our experienced team of surgeons and technicians. Using advanced microsurgical tools and enhanced magnification, we ensure each graft is placed with precision, resulting in a natural, seamless look.

With Long FUE, small dot-like scars may form in the donor area, but they are barely noticeable. This technique is particularly beneficial for patients who prefer not to shave their heads and wish to maintain longer hair during the recovery period. Most patients experience minimal discomfort, and the recovery process is smooth, allowing them to quickly return to their routine with natural-looking results that are virtually undetectable.

Your Long FUE Recovery Timeline

Recovery from a Long FUE hair transplant at AraMedica is straightforward. You can typically return to your routine within two weeks. After the procedure, the donor area will be covered with a light gauze dressing, which will be removed the following day. The tiny extraction sites start healing within 2-3 days, blending with your long hair, making them hardly noticeable.

Recovering

In the recipient area, small crusts or scabs may appear for about a week. Mild swelling in the grafted area may extend to the eyelids or cheeks but typically subsides within 3-5 days.

Most patients take a few days off from work for recovery, but you can resume light activities, such as using your phone or computer, the same day. Signs of the transplant, like swelling or redness, usually fade within a week. Light exercise can be resumed after 7 days, but we recommend avoiding intense activities or swimming for 3-4 weeks to ensure proper healing.

How Long Does the Long FUE Procedure Take?

The length of a Long FUE hair transplant at AraMedica varies depending on the number of grafts needed, typically lasting between 4 to 6 hours. For a standard session involving 1,000 to 2,000 follicular units, the procedure may take up to 6 hours. We ensure your comfort throughout the process by offering breaks, snacks, and entertainment options such as music or shows, allowing you to relax during the procedure.
